Today, May 31st, is David Kennedy’s birthday. It is also now an official holiday in the City of Portland, now and forever known as David Kennedy Day.

Kennedy Day is a celebration of the work, working, whistling while you’re working, humility, the misfits, the listeners who shut the fuck up when someone else is talking, Santa Clausing it 365 days a year, failure as a requirement, enlightened grumpiness, and giving the finger to bureaucracy, meetings, self-promotion, rudeness and crummy advertising.
